The Legend

ROUGAROU

ROO-guh-roo

A creature of Cajun lore. A human body. A wolf's head. A hunter that owns the hours after dark.

In the swamps of South Louisiana — Acadiana, the cane fields, the cypress knees of Terrebonne and Lafourche — children grew up hearing one name whispered after sundown: Rougarou.

From the French loup-garou, the legend crossed an ocean and a continent, then mixed with Creole and Indigenous stories until it became something uniquely Louisiana. Not just a werewolf — a warning, a dual nature, a reminder that the line between daylight civility and night readiness is thinner than we admit.

We took that name because firearms are the same kind of duality: tools of restraint and tools of last resort. Power that demands discipline. A presence that should be felt before it is seen.

“We don't sell fear. We sell readiness — for those who hunt the dark so the rest can sleep.”

Rougarou Firearms is built for serious buyers: duty sidearms, fighting carbines, glass that cuts fog, and the small parts that turn a rifle into a system. Browse live stock, lock in what you need, and we'll get it into lawful hands — the right way.
